- 2000: 25 acres grown in the West Midlands
- 2001: Area grown in England springs to 1000 acres, producing 18,000 tonnes of chipping potatoes.
- 2002: tops the 1000 acre mark.
- 2003: seed sales go to over 1500 tonnes.
- 2004: Sales treble
- 2005: approx. 5,500 acres of ware potatoes or some 90,000 tonnes of product produced and used for the frying industry.
- 2006: demand still outstrips supply............................
Press coverage and promotion of Markies is selective because demand still far outstrips supply.
